Turkish Bed Socks Using Koigu KPM & KPPPM

"Nice around the house, terrific for travel."

We designed these little one-skein slipper socks for the 2009 LYS Tour, and it was one of the first that we published. Still popular, they make great gifts as they’re easy to to fit and don’t take a lot of yarn. They’re nice for around the house. And terrific for travel. The Churchmice loved to wear them with clogs.

Shown in Koigu KPPPM & KPM

We love the complexity and painterly repeats of color that Koigu brings to their skeins of KPPPM—and how they show up in our Turkish Bed Socks! This fingering-weight merino yarn has just the right amount of twist—soft enough for comfort and firm enough for socks!

Yarn Source

Jimmy Beans Wool

Finished foot length: 8"/20cm. Fits 9–10"/23–25cm foot. (You'll have enough yarn to make a longer foot, if desired.)

1 skein Koigu KPPM (175 yds/160m); shown left in Color 711D, and right in Color 515.
Or 175 yds/160m of an equivalent fingering-weight yarn.

Set of 4 US 3 (3.25mm) double-points, or size to obtain gauge.

28 sts/34 rows = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch.
