Northward Cap Using Wool and the Gang Alpachino Merino

“A plush protector!”

Whether the weather is blustery, damp, or snowy (or all three!) this hat is guaranteed to keep your ears well-guarded. With a clever construction, the two comfy flaps rest on either side of your head while the edge dips lower in the back to keep the wind and snow off your neck. We’ve played with braided ties with tasseled tips and knitted I-cord ties!

Shown in Alpachino Merino

For this Northward Cap, we chose Wool and the Gang’s Alpachino Merino. A chunky-weight blend of sustainably sourced alpaca and merino, this yarn has a gently poofy twist, creating a plush and cozy fabric. And with a color palette that features both playful brights and calm neutrals, it’s fun to add a little duplicate stitch embellishment, as we did here!
