Modern Wrapper Using Isager Alpaca 2 and Rowan Kidsilk Haze

“Sophisticated, sleek and easy to wear!”

Can you really design a garment in one size to flatter everyone? We think you can,  specially with thoughtful attention to detail. We gently sloped the shoulders with short  rows to reduce bulk under the arms, and brought the shoulder seams forward a little to lay nicely and stay put. We shaped the collar with short rows to stand softly. Slender  sleeves were designed to flatter in proportion to the body, while allowing you to customize the fit with sleeve length. While full of little design elements, it’s a nearly effortless knit!

See the "Knitter's Notes" for tips on preparing.

Can you really design a garment in one size to flatter everyone? We think you can, especially with thoughtful attention to detail. See more in the description on the right.

Yarn Source

One size. Dimensions after blocking: Approx. 37"/94 cm back width at underarm (74"/188cm body circumference); 28"/71cm length from top of shoulder to hem; 8"/20cm sleeve length; 9½"/24cm cuff circumference.

5 skeins Isager Alpaca 2 (50% lambswool, 50% baby alpaca; 50g, 270 yds/247m) and 6 skeins Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70%super kid mohair; 30% silk. 25g, 229 yds/210m). Shown in Black colorway on the model.

US 10 (6mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge; US 9 (5.5mm), or one size smaller than gauge size; spare gauge needle for three-needle bind off; 2 ring markers and at least 36 locking stitch markers; 4 spare circular needles and 2 double point needles (same size or smaller than gauge size) with point protectors or rubber bands, to use as stitch holders; darning needle to finish.

Approx. 15 sts/22 rows = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Of course, a little preparation never goes amiss. Please do swatch. We recommend a nice big 8" square, as blocked gauge is essential for drape and fit. Block your swatch before measuring your gauge.

Then, once the knitting is done, block your finished garment using the schematic and measurements we provide, remembering any custom length adjustments.
