Crocheted Crossbody Clutch Using Tahki Tandem

“Cute, colorful, crocheted."

Originally designed for the 2019 Puget Sound LYS Tour as a little hands-free ‘passport pouch’ (perfectly sized for phone, cash, and lip balm), we found ourselves experimenting with color-blocking and stripes, playing with the scale, and bingo! --  we morphed it into a flat, foldable clutch. For this version we included a long, crossbody strap.

Shown in Tahki Tandem

Originally designed for the 2019 Puget Sound LYS Tour as a little hands-free ‘passport pouch’ (perfectly sized for phone, cash, and lip balm), we morphed it into a flat, foldable clutch. For this version we included a long, crossbody strap. We love how single crochet works with Tahki Tandem’s shifting colors and textures.

Yarn Source

Approx. 8 x 10"/20 x 25cm.

3 skeins Tahki Tandem (107 yds/98m each). Or approx. 300 yds/275m of an equivalent worsted-weight yarn.
Sample shown in color 10 Copacabana.

US G/6 (4mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.
Locking marker.
Blunt darning needle to finish.
Bag only:
1"/25mm button.
Fine darning needle.
Flat leather lace for strap, 5mm width x 2mm thick (optional).
