Alexandra's Airplane Scarf: Color-Tipped Version Using Isager Silk Mohair
The Design
When Boston-based author and long-time Churchmouse friend, Alexandra Dane, attended a writing retreat in Seattle, she stopped by the shop wearing a scarf that turned our heads. It was just the kind of thing we love—simple, simple, simple! Just a sheer tube pressed flat, we’ve knit it again and again.
In Isager Silk Mohair, Alexandra’s Airplane Scarf becomes silky-sheer bliss. The soft shimmer of silk glows through the airy halo of mohair in this lace-weight yarn. Silk Mohair is so light, it nearly defies gravity! Of course, leave it to Isager to devise an exquisite color palette—full of soft, lustrous shades each more delicious than the last.
For a bit of fun, we created a crocheted edging in a bright, impactful contrasting color. But you can use any scrap mohair you like!
Pick up the Alexandra's Airplane Scarf pattern in digital or printed format (If you already own this pattern, no need to purchase an additional one here). We've chosen some color tipping options in spools of 20 yds/18m, but feel free to create your own by choosing a Main Color and Contrasting Color of Isager Silk Mohair!
