The Design

“Seed-stitched softness.”

The simple, elegant shape of this slouchy topper is beautifully timeless. In fact, it was inspired by heroine Flora Poste in the film Cold Comfort Farm (based on Stella Gibbons’ witty 1932 novel). With a rich, seed-stitch texture, Flora’s Cap has a pleasing weight and warmth—and it seems to go with every outfit!

We knit this slouchy hat in a combination of Along Avec Anna’s Silk Mohair and Merino. Perfectly paired with the mohair fuzz of lace-weight Silk Mohair, Merino’s warm, bouncy strand gains a glowing halo! Together, these yarns have a soft, lightweight warmth that we love season after season. Plus, Along Avec Anna’s yarns are all created with meticulous care and respect for animals, humans, and the environment.

FINISHED SIZE
One size: To fit 21–22"/53–56cm head. Approx. 20"/51cm around x 9"/23cm tall.

1 skein Along Avec Anna Silk Mohair (229 yds/210m) and
1 skein Along Avec Anna Merino (218 yds/200m) held together throughout.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 3 (3.25mm) 16"/40cm circular and double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US 2 (2.75mm) 16"/40cm circular needles, or .5mm smaller than gauge needle.
7 stitch markers (1 in a different color to designate beginning of round).
Darning needle to finish.

GAUGE
Approx. 23 sts = 4"/10cm in seed stitch on larger needles, after blocking.
