We knit these tiny Wee Sheep in Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift, the bar against which all fingering-weight wooly wools have been measured for generations. Made from the same hardy wee breed as our favorite Shetland Heather aran weight, this lofty woolen-spun yarn has the perfect toothy texture for Wee Sheep.Your handknit herd is sure to grow and grow.

Jimmy Beans Wool (Spindrift)

Approx. 3"/7.5cm tall x 4"/10cm long.

2 skeins Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift (115 yds/105m each): 1 each of main color (MC) and contrast color (CC). Makes approx. 5–6 sheep.
Or approx. 22 yds/20m MC and 12 yds/11m CC in an equivalent fingering-weight yarn per sheep.
Approx. 15 yds/14m of crewel or fingering-weight yarn for embellishing.

US 1½ (2.5mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US 0 (2mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle.
US D/3 (3.25mm) crochet hook and 1 yd/m smooth fingering-weight yarn for provisional cast-on.
Wool or polyester stuffing.
Small bells for embellishing neck.
8 locking markers.
Fine darning needle.

30–32 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch in the round; a dense fabric keeps stuffing from showing through.
