Cool in the summer and warm in the winter, nature's strongest, most long-wearing fiber makes the perfect sweater yarn, especially for kids and men who run hot.
Your hemp skeins will be a little stiff when they first arrive but give them a chance—your yarn will soften as you knit and get softer and softer every time you wash and dry it. Hames offers this suggestion: If your hands are particularly sensitive, pre-soak your skeins in hot water and a little hair conditioner and air dry thoroughly before you knit.
