MOVING MADNESS

Our Odds & Ends Sale last weekend brought some long time fans into our lovely new space. We had fun being back on the floor! In the meantime, our new Shipper has been working overtime along with the Mice to get our backlog rolling. If you're waiting for your order to arrive, thank you for your continued patience. We are ever grateful!

SHIPPING DELAYS

Today is the day we pack up our yarn and goodies, and send them to our awesome new shippers in Poulsbo. They will need a few days to get up and running in true Churchmouse fashion, so shipping will be delayed for a few days. Apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience as we build our new Churchmouse Studio!

WE'RE MOVING

We're so pleased to announce the new Churchmouse Studio, an inspiring place where the Mice can help knitters and crocheters find and finish successful projects. In March, we'll open our new home as a "working studio" in Kingston, Washington, a few miles north of Bainbridge Island. In order to serve our widespread community better, here's how we're evolving:

  • Our packing and mailing will be in the care of a professional company in Poulsbo, run by people we know personally. This will free up more time for our Customer Care team to help you choose projects and solve problems by phone, email, and—soon—by video.
  • Once or twice a month, we'll host "open studios" (squeeze skeins, play with color swatches, try on samples . . .) and other events such as trunk shows, workshops, knit-alongs, and guest speakers.
  • Now and during the transition, Customer Care will be available through both phone and email, Monday through Saturday, from 8:00am umtil 3:00pm. Our phone number is (206) 780-2686 and our email address is contact@churchmouseyarns.com.
This is just the beginning of our plans, all made possible by you, our dear customer. We'll spend January moving in and February getting settled in readiness for our first open studio in March. In the meantime, we'll share inspiration, as always, with online offerings and emails as we work behind the scenes to establish our new concept. Thank you for staying tuned as we evolve!

There is a new "mirror" website called churchmouseyarns.shop that is fraudulent! They are posting our products and might be trying to capture credit card information. Our attorneys are on it.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Dear friends,

For 23 years, we've used this day of Thanksgiving to reflect with gratitude on the support you've given us. With you, Churchmouse Yarns & Teas is a dream come true.

You shared in each step of our journey when we navigated the closing of our brick-and-mortar store in the summer of 2020. You continued to follow us online and enjoyed the ideas for making that we presented each week. Year after year, you shared in our Thanksgiving Weekend celebrations.

In appreciation, we'd like you to be the first to know that exciting changes are afoot for 2024!

Come spring, we'll be moving our Bainbridge Island warehouse north to a beautiful building in Kingston, a small town up on the Kitsap Peninsula. This will give us the opportunity to offer periodic gatherings such as workshops, trunk shows, and—who knows? We would love to connect with you in person!

From our new warehouse, our busy, efficient team of Mice will ship yarn and tea to our online community all around the world. We'll be refreshing our website with some new features to make online shopping even more fun. You'll always find—24/7—tried-and-true projects, helpful accessories, and tasty teas.

In short, 2024 promises to be awesome!
This new evolution of Churchmouse Yarns & Teas is made possible by you and your fellow makers in our community. We are thankful for you!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us.

Churchmouse Yarns & Teas

*UNABLE TO WIND*

Why aren't we winding yarn? Ever since we instituted COVID precautions, which we still have in place, we've spread out in our workspace for safety. We no longer have the space for winding machines! Though we're not offering this service, it's very easy to wind yarn yourself—just visit our 'Winding Yarn by Hand' page for step-by-step guidance! (It's a great way for your hands to get to know your yarn.)

NEW HOURS

With our small crew, we find that we need a day of rest. Starting today, we will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 until 2:00 for local pickup and customer service answers to emails and telephone calls. On Sundays, we'll be closed; your emails and phone calls will be answered promptly on Monday.

FAREWELL TO SMITH TEAS

Our friends at Smith Tea have made the difficult decision to stop producing custom blends for small companies such as ours. We thank them sincerely for 13 years of very special service.

We just received our last order and are sad to say that the Churchmouse exclusive "seasonal" blends will be unavailable once they sell out. They have a two-year shelf life before opening, so don't hesitate to stock up.

NEW POSTAGE CHARGES

Because of continuing increases from the U.S. Postal Service, we must adjust our shipping rates. Going forward, our domestic flat rate will be $9. To mollify that, we’re lowering our “free shipping” threshold from $120 to $99. We now must charge $5 to ship up to six printed patterns.

International shipping rates have risen much faster. Now we must charge $35 for all shipments to Canada, and $55 to all other international destinations. We cannot offer a free shipping threshold to these locations, alas.
