One of our favorite New England companies has been tapping the crystallizing properties of pure cane sugar since the 1880s. They create these pretty little sweetening swizzle sticks. The process purifies and clarifies the sugar as it clusters naturally into sparkling crystals. The amber crystals have a golden tint from a bit of caramel color, but sweeten without changing your tea's flavor.
At approximately 4¾" long, each stick packs approx. 2 tsps of sweetening power. Elegant at the table with tea or coffee, we've also known kids—young and old—to just nibble on one.
