The Design

"Colorwork inspired by embroidery traditions."

This beautiful colorwork yoked pullover, designed by Leila Raabe, is a great first stranded-color project. And perfect if you love just a little patterning. Inspired by blackwork embroidery (which we also love), Leila's design uses stark contrast to strengthen the fine single-stitch lines. She suggests you could also use two or three shading colors for the motifs; and we suspect that light on dark would be handsome, too. Classic round-yoke construction is worked from the bottom up with a little colorwork at the hem to whet your appetite and a delicious swath at the yoke for "afters."
