Shibui’s done it again—spun a fiber with which we are absolutely smitten. Birch is a single ply of extra fine merino with a micron count approaching cashmere. In the language of softness, that means this fingering-weight is next-to-the-skin, cuddly-as-a-cloud, superbly, scrumptiously soft. We’ve hardly stopped stroking the skeins since they arrived. Knit solo or in concert with another of Shibui’s spectacular fibers, Birch creates a luxurious, lofty fabric. And Shibui’s familiar, fabulous color palette takes on such a wonderful, rich depth—we’re overflowing with ideas!
