This simple and versatile marled cap is knit in the new marled colorways of Shelter from Brooklyn Tweed. A quick gift for guys and gals alike, Mawson instantly adds a new dimension to your cold-weather wardrobe. Unisex style can be worked to beanie length (one skein) or extended as a watch cap (two skeins). Style with a folded brim or wear with slouchy insouciance! Mawson also has some nifty little techniques (see Knitter's Notes tab) that will have you learning as you go!
Rated in difficulty as 'adventurous beginner', pattern includes chart, written instructions, tutorials and of course, beautiful photography.

Mawson's fabric of single rib begins with a 1x1 Ribbed Cable Cast On, which mimics the look of a tubular cast-on without the extra effort. Knit in the round from brim to crown, a clever double decrease at the crown makes the hat completely reversible!
Knitters will use every last bit of one skein for the beanie, and may want to buy a second 'insurance' skein for swatching.
