The Design

“Cozy cables.”

This rectangle scarf, designed by Julie Hoover, is all about bold, sweeping cables! The pattern includes both written instructions and a cable chart, as well as a narrower, longer version for a worsted-weight yarn and a wider, slightly shorter version for a bulky-weight yarn.

CONSTRUCTION
Worked flat, from end to end. Cable pattern can be worked from either written directions or chart.

SIZES
Version I (Scarf): 9"/22.75cm width; 81"/205.75cm length.
Version II (Wrap): 11"/28cm width; 70"/177.75cm length.

YARN
Scarf: 6 skeins mYak Baby Yak Medium (125 yds/117m each); or approx. 750 yds/686m of an equivalent worsted-weight yarn.
Wrap: 10 skeins mYak Baby Yak Chunky (65 yds/58m each); or approx. 650 yds/594m of an equivalent chunky-weight yarn.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Version I (Scarf): US 8 (5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Ribbing: US 6 (4mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Version II (Wrap): US 10.5 (6.5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Ribbing: US 9 (5.5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Cable Needle, blunt tapestry needle.
Blocking wires and T-pins (optional but recommended).

GAUGE
Version I (Scarf): 24 stitches/28 rows = 4"/10cm in Laurent Pattern using gauge needle, after blocking.
Version II (Wrap): 19½ stitches/19½ rows = 4"/10 cm in Laurent Pattern using gauge needle, after blocking.
