Fancy Hen - Dovestone DK Version

Fancy Hen - Dovestone DK Version

“Two skeins, two hens.”

Baa Ram Ewe brings us this lovable Fancy Hen pattern, designed by Ella Austin using the wonderfully light and bouncy Dovestone DK yarn. The colorwork is inspired by patterned ceramic tiles, the flower motif is traditional fair isle - together just about perfect!

Knit in the round from the bottom up, two skeins will give you enough to make two hens - just reverse main and contrast colors. (Be sure to order two sets of comb yarn!) One for you and one for me!

A color coded chart walks you easily through the knitting; all other instructions in text. For the Fancy Hen's eyes, use buttons from your collection or, like us, just make two french knots. This beauty makes a great cushion or soft toy, or add weights and use your two Hens as artful bookends.

Pick up the pattern book below (read more about the Dovestone Smallholding book) and select two shades of Dovestone DK. Don't forget the comb yarn: we wound off a few yards of the Dovestone color Bantam -- isn't that perfect? (Please note that if you don't see the book below, that means we are temporarily sold out. But we'll have more again soon, so please check back!)
