Cormorant Shawl Stick

Cormorant Shawl Stick

"A graceful accent."

The cormorant greets all travelers who cross Puget Sound to our Island, so when we saw this gorgeous shawl pin from JUL, we were delighted at its familiar profile. These dark-feathered seabirds frequent the piers, rocks, and waters of our coastflying, diving, and resting with wings outstretched. Their noble, yet whimsical head has been exquisitely captured by the fair-trade metalsmiths of JUL atop this shawl stick. The cormorant’s curved neck is echoed in the curves of polished white brass, specially designed to ensure that your hand-knit cardigan, wrap, or scarf is gently secured. Each shawl stick is just under five inches in length and is about the thickness of a US 2/2.5 mm knitting needle.

JUL works with designers and manufacturers in Bali, Indonesia, to create each of their fair-trade products, where their designs are manipulated in wax before casting in small batches. Hand finished.
