Pick a colorwork chart—we adore handsome houndstooth—an edging, and then finish as little cuffs, fingerless gloves (our choice here), or full mittens.

With the beautiful colorwork at the cuffs, take advantage of Brooklyn Tweed Peerie’s deeply saturated shades! This woolly, worsted-spun wonder of a yarn is 100% American merino wool, among Brooklyn Tweed’s softest. Once spun into a strong, fingering-weight strand, Peerie produces precise stitch definition, beautifully crisp textures, and stunning colorwork.

FINISHED SIZES
Mittens: Approx. 7"/18cm around x 7½"/19cm long, or desired length.

YARN
2 skeins Brooklyn Tweed Peerie (210 yds/192m each): 1 skein in Main Color (MC) and 1 skein in Contrast Color (CC). Our sample is shown in colors Porter (MC) and Muslin (CC).

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Churchmouse Colorwork Cuffs & Mittens pattern.
US 3 (3.25mm) double-point needles (set of 5), or size to obtain gauge.
US 1½ (2.5mm) double-point needles, or 2–3 sizes smaller than gauge size.
2 stitch markers.
Darning needle to finish.

GAUGE
Approx. 28 sts = 4"/10cm on larger needles in stranded pattern in the round.
Approx. 26 sts = 4"/10cm on larger needles in stockinette stitch in the round.

KNITTER'S NOTES
Be sure to read what the pattern says about color dominance and balancing contrasting colors visually. The knitter carried the MC in the left hand and CC in the right.
