Holding on tight so you won’t drop a stitch? Relax! In this class you’ll learn to see the structure of a good stitch so you’ll know what to do when one goes wrong: how to pick up, un-knit, and rip (and a few tricks so you won’t need to). Free yourself from fear of your knitting! Basic knitting skills required.

You'll need to bring:
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 9 (5.5mm), or size to obtain a stretchy fabric with easy-to-see stitches; a crochet hook, approx. size H – J; darning needle; reading glasses, if necessary.

YARN
Use a worsted weight yarn in a light color, one-ply preferable, such as Manos Maxima or Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted, along with a small amount of a contrasting color for swatch stripe.

HOMEWORK
First session: Cast on 24 stitches.
1. Work approximately 1" in stockinette (knit 1 row, purl 1 row; repeat), ending having completed a purl row. Cut yarn leaving a 6-8 inch tail.
2. Knit one row in contrasting color. Cut contrasting yarn leaving a 6-8" tail.
3. Rejoin main color and beginning with a purl row, work an additional 1" in stockinette stitch ending having completed a knit row.
4. With purl side (or wrong side) facing, knit one row.
5. With knit side facing, continue in stockinette stitch for 1", ending with a purl row.
6. Do not bind off; bring swatch on needles.

CLASS MINIMUMS: Minimum class size is 2 students. ‘Go’ date is 7 days before first session. If your class is cancelled, we will call you and issue a refund. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot and ensure minimum enrollment. Sign up with a friend!

CANCELLATIONS: You may cancel up to 7 days before your first class for a full refund. If you cancel later, we cannot issue a refund unless we are able to fill your spot from a waiting list. Consider putting your last cancel date on your calendar. If you’re unable to cancel in time for a refund, you can always send a friend in your place. If we must cancel a class, we will issue a refund. We may, on occasion, need to call in a substitute teacher.
