Chunky Slipper Socks Using String Turin
The Design
Slipper socks are one of our favorite quick knits. In a bulky yarn, they’re even quicker—and cozier! The Chunky Slipper Socks, a free pattern reminiscent of our Turkish Bed Socks, have a few added, clever details. They have a nice, neat heel, a pretty slip-stitch edging around the ankle, and oodles of warmth!
We knit this cozy pair of Chunky Slipper Socks using String Turin. An Italian-made, heavy-worsted-weight yarn, it’s a combination of 95% cashmere with a 5% splash of extrafine merino. Warm and velvety soft—and sprinkled with tweed’s signature flecks—Turin creates slipper socks we never want to take off our feet!

FINISHED SIZES
Choose width; work to any length. Medium adult (wide adult); approx. 8 (91⁄4)"/20 (23.5)cm around foot. Instructions given for medium width; wide width in parentheses ( ).
YARN
1 skein String Turin (122 yds/112m); Or approx. 122 yds/112m of an equivalent chunky- weight yarn, for up to 11 (10)"/28 (25)cm foot length. Note: To adjust length, add or subtract approx. 12 (14) yds/m per knitted 1"/2.5cm, per pair.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 6 (4mm) set of 5 double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
Blunt darning needle to finish.
GAUGE
