Andrea Hungerford has yet to meet a handcraft that doesn’t intrigue her. With this new serial, she aims to bring together crafters and makers into a community of those who find joy in creating with their hands, minds and hearts. Focusing on a specific city or regiona ‘cluster of creativity’these lookbooks are virtual travel guides for fiber and fabric enthusiasts.

This second issue focuses on Portland and mid-coast Maine—an area rich in fiber and textile history—and is filled with photo essays, day trips, foodie excursions and conversations with local makers (including Swan’s Island Company, Clara Parkes, Bristol Ivy, and Hannah Fettig to name a few). Knitting projects, fabric projects, and recipes further this place-based celebration of fiber and fabric arts.
