The Design

“Windswept stripes.”

This striped scarf makes us want to knit up, wrap up, and set off for a ramble across the moors. Meticulously designed by Lisa Richardson for the Valley Tweed Collection, the Bradfield Scarf is generously shaped (one end slightly wider than the other) with smoothly narrowing (and cleverly sequenced) stripes. The result is handsome, graphic, and wonderfully warm.

Knit in Rowan Valley Tweed, Bradfield has just the right amount of woolliness—light, strong, and hardy. It’s spun from 100% wool (one thread of which is lambswool) just a stone’s throw away from the Rowan Design office in Yorkshire. In fact, the sweeping landscape surrounding the mill is what inspired those richly flecked earth and jewel tones.
