The Design

We’ve added a deep, ribbed cuff to one of our favorite freebies! Even with a little bit of extra length, the Basic Beanie knit in a chunky yarn is a wonderfully quick knit. In addition to the cozy bonus of the ribbed cuff, the familiar, swirling decreases at the crown give this hat a cute, casual look!

We think super fun, super-chunky-weight Manos Franca brings a happy little spark to our most Basic Beanie—and we love making the most of a single skein with this version! A single ply of superwash merino wool, this soft and fluffy yarn also has a certain touch of spunky charm—it must be the bright, playfully speckled colors!

1 skein Manos Franca (114 yds/105m each); Or approx. 80 (90, 100) yds/73 (82, 91)m of a super-chunky weight yarn.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
US 13 (9mm) 16"/40cm circular and double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US 11 (8mm) 16"/40cm or one size smaller than gauge needle for cast-on.
5 stitch markers, 1 in a different color.
Darning needle to finish.
