KWC Retreat 2020 Attendees
We’re so glad you’ll be joining us for the 2020 edition of our Knitting With Company Retreat on Bainbridge Island. We'll gather at the legendary IslandWood campus from April 2nd through the 5th. We’re looking forward to knitting, learning and relaxing with you! Until then, here is some helpful information.
The Retreat begins with IslandWood check-in at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2nd. We’ll finish Sunday morning after breakfast with check-out at 11:00 am. In between, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to relax, knit and visit with the designers.
Arriving early or staying late? You won’t be able to stay at IslandWood, but there are other lodging options, including some with special rates if you mention Churchmouse. See some choices by clicking here.
Flying in. There are several easy ways to get from Sea-Tac Airport to the Seattle-Bainbridge ferry dock. By taxi or car service, it’s 20 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. By light rail it’s 45 minutes with a seven-block walk to the dock from the train stop.
Sailing in. The ferry from downtown Seattle to beautiful Bainbridge Island leaves every hour or so. The crossing takes 35 minutes -- excellent knitting time. It's a 10-minute drive from the ferry dock to IslandWood and there's plenty of parking. But you don't really need a car -- on arrival and departure days we'll provide a scheduled shuttle to and from the ferry.
On the Island. If you’re walking on and would like us to pick you up at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal, please send your flight arrival time to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can plan our shuttle service. When you get to the ferry, walk down the covered ramp to the curb and look for a white van with the Churchmouse logo.
If possible, choose luggage that can be rolled easily or carried backpack-style (easier to maneuver on the IslandWood paths). Don’t worry about leaving space for any yarn you might acquire when here—we’ll ship it to your home at no charge. And, you’ll get 10% off your Churchmouse purchases during the Retreat.
The only sundries in your room will be a soap dispenser, so you might need: Hair Dryer, Shampoo, Lotion, Personal Toiletries. It might also be good to bring:
Comfortable walking shoes, layered clothing for all weather, umbrella, flashlight.
