Colors from the local landscape!  Local Color Fiber Studio is a Bainbridge Island venture founded by Emily, an architect turned farmer, and Tatyana, a landscape designerboth in love with fiber and wool and color. Their idea? Use naturally grown, local plants to dye natural fibers, producing colors that highlight the landscape from which they are refined. Grape skin, madder, marigold, red cabbage and onionall grown and gathered here on our Island!

Cascara Merino is a squishy, three-ply aran-weight yarn that's soft, light and bouncy. We love it for anything with texture or rib, and colorwork too! Spun at Abundant Earth Fiber Mill on Whidbey Island, Cascara is made from US grown Merino wool. Dyed in small batches and as with any natural plant based dyes, colors will vary slightly from skein to skein.

Handwash in cool water. Some dye may release in first wash.
