The Design

“Self-striping fun!”

This child-sized version of our Basic Beanie is so sweet—and wonderfully easy-going! All you need to do is pick a yarn color and then decide what sort of brim your little one would like—a cute, rolled edge? Or maybe a short, snug band of ribbing?

We chose fingering-weight Lang Mille Colori Baby for this wee Basic Beanie—its self-striping nature brings a touch of adventure to your knitting! True to its name (mille colori means ‘a thousand colors’ in Italian), long washes of vibrant color twist together in this yarn’s single-ply strand. Spun from springy, 100% Australian merino wool, Mille Colori Baby is as resilient as it is soft!
