A free adaptation to our One Big Granny Square Throw & Afghan pattern, these two pillow covers—the same big square, just with a different twist—are easy and fun, even for those new to crochet!

These granny square pillow covers are plush and wonderfully soft in Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Worsted. Cotton is soft by nature, and this fiber lets all that natural softness bounce right through its loose, 2-ply twist. Organic Cotton Worsted—100% certified organic and environmentally friendly—has a springy-ness that’s reminiscent of wool and a fantastic range of deeply saturated colors.

Two-sided square: Approx. 13 1⁄2 x 13 1⁄2"/34 x 34cm square; to fit 14"/35.5cm square pillow form.
On the diagonal: Approx. 22 1⁄2 x 22 1⁄2"/57 x 57cm square; to fit 16"/41cm square pillow form.

YARN
3 skeins Blue Sky Fibers Organic Cotton Worsted (150 yds/137m each); 1 skein each in 3 colors. Designate Colors A-C.
Or approx. 150 yds/137m each in 3 colors of an equivalent worsted-weight cotton yarn. Note: Yardage yields two 13 1⁄2"/34cm squares for a double sided cover to fit a 14"/35.5cm square pillow form or a single 22 1⁄2"/57cm square for a 16"/41cm square pillow form, wrapped and seamed on the diagonal. For larger pillow forms, be sure to purchase more yarn.
