Happy Ruffled Socks Using Manos Alegria
Happy Ruffled Socks Using Manos Alegria
Years ago, a Churchmouse added a darling ruffle to a pair of simple socks. They made us so happy, we had to share! We’ve written a free adaptation to accompany our original Basic Sock pattern so you can ruffle up your socks yourself. For young-at-heart grown-ups, these socks are pretty with sneakers and sweet in Mary Janes. The socks’ shorter length makes them perfect for warm weather—and you’ll finish them much faster.
We thought Manos Alegria—’joy’ in Spanish—would cheer the ruffles on even more. A brilliant fingering-weight yarn, Alegria is a blend of superwash merino and sturdy polyamide. It’s ultra-soft, resilient, and easy to care for—perfect for socks. With a range of rampant variegated colors and rich solids, these Happy Ruffled Socks are bound for fun!
Medium adult: medium width; up to 10"/25cm foot.
1 skein Manos Alegria (445 yds/425m each); shown in color 9089 Huarache. Or approx. 250 yds/229m of an equivalent fingering-weight sock yarn.

Repeat Round 2 until ribbing measures 2".
