Alexandra's Airplane Scarf Beaded Version Using Rowan Kidsilk Haze
The Design
We just had to try adding beads to Alexandra's creation. And it turned out beautifully! You'll find the (optional) instructions for placing beads in this pattern if you want to follow suit. This is the perfect airplane project―both to knit and to wear en route. You can style this sheer tube of lace-weight mohair any number of ways. It's just the kind of thing we love―simple, simple, simple, and all about the color!
The Details
FINISHED SIZE
Approx. 13"/33cm across (26"/66cm circumference) by 60"/152cm long, after blocking.
YANRN
4 skeins Rowan Kidsilk Haze (229 yds/210m each).
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
1 package size 8 seed beads.
Beaded version shown knit in Fudge-Sunshine.
US 8 (5mm) 16-24"/40-60cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US 10/1.15mm steel crochet hook for placing beads.
Darning needle to finish.
Blocking wires and/or pins, steam iron and press cloth, for blocking.
GAUGE
Approx. 18 sts/25 rows = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch worked in the round, after blocking.
KNITTER'S NOTES
To wear as a cowl, reach inside and pull one end through to meet the other; slip over your head.
