The Design

The stitch is easy, the construction clever—this project is so much fun. The Crocheted Moebius Cowl is worked from the center band outward, and each round adds stitches to both the top and bottom edges of the cowl. So, working one round is really like working two. Gotta love that.

More to love: The addition of a simple half twist creates a mathematical miracle called a moebius. As you run your finger along the edge of your piece, you can touch every edge without lifting your finger, and if you run your hand over the surface, you'll touch every surface without lifting your hand!

This two-tone version using Rowan's Kidsilk Haze illuminates the center-out construction brilliantly. And beautifully. By the time you add the second color, you'll really start to see the magic of the moebius.

Two skeins of Kidsilk Haze create a large cowl, but you can always use just one skein for a smaller version. Either way, the soft and floaty nature of Kidsilk Haze crocheted with an oversized hook makes the perfect accessory for multi-season wear. Combine that with all the colors available and you'll never run out of options.
