Whether it's your first garment or your fifth, it's way more fun and inspiring to get started -and keep going-with a supportive group and an expert at hand.

You’ll learn: How to choose a size, swatch for gauge, track shaping, pick up stitches for bands and more. Basic knitting skills required.

We’ll provide: A Churchmouse Classics pullover, cardigan or wrapper pattern ($12 value).

Maximum of 7 students. $100 (5-session series, 10 hours).

Sessions this season:

  • Saturday afternoons 3:00-5:00pm 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/24, 3/31 (note—skips a week!) with Laura McCormick

Your choice for your project! Don’t worry if you have not yet decided by start of class – we’re here to help!

Needles for swatching as suggested by yarn ball band and pattern. Please ask staff if you need help. A couple of different sizes may be necessary.

Basic knitting supplies; reading glasses, if necessary.

Provided for you: Churchmouse Classics garment pattern – your choice!

Homework:  None (but ask us to wind a skein of your yarn into a ball if it came in a hank).

STUDENT DISCOUNTS: When you arrive for a class (excluding Circles) you’ll receive a nontransferable one-time discount card for 10% off store wide. These cannot be combined with other discounts or used for class fees. Please present your discount card at time of purchase.

REGISTRATION: Sign-ups begin immediately (exceptions where noted) on a first-come/first-served basis. To register for a class, simply add the desired session to your cart and check out as normal. You may also stop by the shop or call 206-780-2686 ext 4 with a credit card. Your place is reserved with full payment.

CLASS MINIMUMS: Minimum class size is 3 students. ‘Go’ date is 7 days before first session. If your class is cancelled, we will call you and issue a refund. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible to reserve your spot and ensure minimum enrollment. Sign up with a friend!

CANCELLATIONS: You may cancel up to 7 days before your first class for a full refund. If you cancel later, we cannot issue a refund unless we are able to fill your spot from a waiting list. Consider putting your last cancel date on your calendar. If you’re unable to cancel in time for a refund, you can always send a friend in your place. If we must cancel a class, we will issue a refund. We may, on occasion, need to call in a substitute teacher.
