Color Play Mohair Scarf & Wrap Pattern

Color Play Mohair Scarf & Wrap Pattern

“Compulsively knitable!”

Made with a double strand of a favorite lace-weight mohair and silk blend, you'll have fun playing with color, mixing with ombré shading, or crossing the color wheel for graphic punch. For the scarf, we mixed four solid colors—two at a time—to create shaded color blocking. For the wrap, we played with four softly self-striping colorways—sometimes with themselves, sometimes with each other—so no two pieces will ever be alike. You'll just have to make another one.

Scarf: 12"/30cm wide x approx. 57"/145cm long, after blocking.
Wrap: 18"/46cm wide x approx. 76"/193cm long, after blocking.

Scarf: Approx. 229 yds/209m each in 4 colors of lace-weight mohair yarn. See the scarf project page for our favorite colorways!
Wrap: Approx. 460 yds/421m each in 4 variegated colors of lace-weight mohair yarn. We used 4 colors of Rowan Kidsilk Haze Stripe.

US 7 (4.5mm) needles, or size to obtain gauge.

Approx. 20 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.

With their featherweight warmth and glowing colors, we think Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Kidsilk Haze Stripe are perfect yarns for this project, an easy-to-knit, easy-to-wear piece that's bang on trend.

Notice that color blocks, or sections, are not equal in size. This is by design, so that the finished piece can be worn with colors falling where they may. Embrace the fact that each time you make this project, you will end up with a unique scarf or wrap!
