Rowan Magazine 62

"From one drizzly island to another..."

This might be our favorite Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine to date—after all, Churchmouse Yarns & Teas is featured! We’re so honored for the mention. We’re so glad we can share our passion for Rowan’s lovely yarns from ‘one drizzly island to another...’

Rowan Magazine 62 features two design stories grounded in English village life. From cobblestoned streets and cozy storefronts, to the dramatic landscapes and stone walls of the surrounding countryside—think Brontë sisters in contemporary dress.

In “Kinship,” cozy cables share pages with gorgeously intricate colorwork designs in a refined and timeless collection of twenty-two designs for women. Inspired by Rowan’s original roots housed in a beautiful old woollen mill, the palette is full of earthy naturals and warm tones. Be sure to take a look at Fumber, a lovely sweater with a colorwork yoke—our friend Carol fell in love with it!

“Dawn ‘til Dusk” presents knitwear that transcends daytime and nightlife. Nineteen designs for women take you from the office to after-work drinks, from warm layers for afternoon strolls to evening cover-ups. The palette of jewel tones is touched with a bit of subtle, beaded sparkle.

This issue includes a designer profile on Georgia Farrell, a travel journal about Haworth—home to the Brontës and the photo shoot location for “Kinship"—and an article on two yarn shops faithful to Rowan, featuring our own Island shop and wonderful words from Kit and John!
