The Design

“Softness beyond belief.

Inspired by our ever-popular Easy Folded Poncho, this scaled-down version is totally seamless and slips easily over the shoulders. The simple shape makes it easy to re-yarn in another gauge. Just swatch for a softly draping fabric, then multiply the schematic dimensions by your stitch gauge—the math is easy!

We couldn’t resist knitting our Two-Point Cowl in Lang Cashmere Light—the incredible feel of the fabric is beyond belief! Worsted-weight and oh, so soft, this yarn has a loose chainette construction. Precious, softly waving fibers from the downy coats of cashmere goats are blown through the strand, making Cashmere Light—and this magnificent cowl—as light as a feather, as soft as a cloud.

KNITTER'S NOTES
We stopped at 4"/10cm deep on the Cowl Collar. It saved from getting into a new skein. You can also undo your swatch if you did one, but use it before you start your cowl, that way you won't see sewn in ends on the inside of the cowl.

The key to re-gauging is to knit a generous swatch, one that’s at least 6” x 6”. Wet block your swatch, allow it to dry thoroughly and let it rest. You want a softly draping fabric that has some body but isn’t stiff. Once you have a fabric you like, measure and note your stitch gauge—Use the free re-gauging worksheet to do a little bit of simple math to achieve the finished dimensions.
