Brooklyn Tweed Loft
He's done it again! Brooklyn Tweed's Jared Flood has created another absolutely essential woolly wool. Loft, a soft-spun 2-ply fingering weight yarn—little brother to Shelter—has a range of gauge talents you won't believe: it's lofty enough to knit at sport weight with nice integrity and it'll handle stranded colorwork as dense as 10 stitches to the inch (think Fair Isle mittens). And of course (you know Jared!) it's perfect for lace and has beautiful stitch definition for fine cables. Loft's thoughtful heathered color palette includes 32 shades—17 original Shelter colors plus 15 new ones—including subtle shading series and perfect 'pop' colors. Not coincidentally, two strands of Loft will yield the gauge of Shelter, so you can bring these new shades into your Shelter projects. Loft softens to a yummy, woolly hand with wet-blocking so we love it for our Cashmere Beret pattern. We're going to knit one in every color!
